What kinds of beer do you carry?
Hundreds of beers across every major category: domestic favorites, craft and IPAs, imports, seasonal releases, ciders, hard seltzers, hard teas, and ready-to-drink cocktails. Do you carry local and Pennsylvania beer?
Proudly. Yuengling, IC Light, Rolling Rock, Stoney's, Arsenal cider, and a rotating cast of Pennsylvania craft breweries are regulars in the lab.
Can I buy single cans or bottles?
Yes — a whole wall of them. Our singles coolers run from 12 oz cans up to 40 oz, which makes it easy to experiment before buying a case. That's very much the point of the lab.
Do you sell kegs?
Yes — by special order only. We don't stock kegs in the store; we bring yours in just for your event. Order ahead through our event order form or by phone, and we'll have it cold and ready on pickup day. Deposits apply to kegs and taps; we'll explain everything when we confirm your order. Can you help with a wedding, graduation, or party?
It's one of our favorite things to do. Send an event order request or call with your date and guest count, and we'll help you figure out quantities, order kegs, and have everything cold for pickup. Start with the Party & Kegs guide.
How do I place an order for a special event?
Use the Order Ahead form — tell us about your event and how you'd like to be reached, and we'll get back to you within one business day to confirm everything. Prefer to talk it through? Call (724) 834-3326. Nothing is paid for online, and no order is final until we confirm it with you.
Can you special order a beer for me?
We're happy to try. If it's distributed in Pennsylvania, we can usually track it down — ask in the store or give us a call.
How do I find out if you have a specific beer in stock right now?
Call (724) 834-3326 and a real human will walk over and check the shelf while you're on the phone. The website doesn't track live inventory on purpose — the store changes too fast, and honestly, that's the fun of it.
Where are you located, and is there parking?
990 N Main St (Rt 66) at the north end of Greensburg, PA 15601 — with free plaza parking right outside the door. Get directions.
What ID do I need?
You must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol or tobacco, and we check valid photo ID. Please have it ready — the lab runs a tight protocol.
Do you sell cigars?
Yes — a wonderful, hand-picked selection of premium cigars. See the Cigar Department, and ask us for a beer pairing while you're at it.
How do I hear about new arrivals and store news?
Two ways: join the Mad List for email updates, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram — that's where the week-to-week action lives. The website is for everything that doesn't change.
Are you locally owned?
100%. Mad Scientist Beer is independently owned and run right here in Greensburg by Mindy — a former DNA forensic scientist — and a team of neighbors who love this stuff.
